Winter fun!

Surprise, surprise! I am posting on my blog! What a shock. :)

We have been keeping busy as usual. Although, going a little stir crazy at times. Josie has really started playing well by herself lately. She STILL loves her strollers! She pushes them around EVERY single day, multiple times a day. She puts different stuffed animals, dolls and toys in the seat, and hangs her purses on the handles. It's fun to watch her use her imagination more now. Another thing that keeps Josie busy is missing her daddy. She talks about him constantly throughout the day and wants to know why he has to work. Today I explained for the umpteenth time that he has to work to make money for his family to buy things like food, clothes, toys, TV's, (I just kept listing things we have). Now she says that daddy has to work to make money and TV's.:)
Elyse keeps busy following Josie around and taking her toys. She pulls up on anything and everything now. She is not really cruising on the furniture all that much yet, but her crawling has definitely gotten faster. Here are some pictures from the past couple of weeks...

Josie's new big "grill" bed! (That's what it sounds like when Josie says girl!)

Dancing to Christmas music while daddy decorates the tree! This is fun! First time playing in the snow this winter!
Trying to pull Daddy!
Daddy pulled Mommy and Josie in the sled
Just a cute picture of our little sweetie to end the post :)

Fall

I'm going to stop talking about how it's been awhile since my last post because it might just always be like this! Mike did get some pictures out of our recent adventures to the family, at least! The girls are doing great. Elyse is really getting wherever she wants to go these days. She is army crawling everywhere! I have had to stop her from playing with the registers and pulling on the outlet cords a lot lately! She is a busy girl! She was sleeping horribly at night, but it is slowly getting better again, thankfully. Josie is a lot of fun. We have lots of conversations during the day. She is always asking questions. She actually asked the other night as we were putting her to bed, "Where is God?" She surprises us every day with all that she is learning. She is so sweet and likes to give hugs and kisses, and tell us that she loves us. They bring so much joy to our lives. Here are some pictures we took on Saturday at the Zoo. Josie had a blast with her friend, Violet!

New Pictures

I haven't posted for awhile, so here are some new pictures of the girls. They are both doing really well. Josie has really started using her imagination when she is playing and is always singing. Elyse is always moving - she is a busy little girl! She has her two bottom teeth already, which is weird because Josie didn't get her first teeth until 10 months. Elyse had her 6 month appt, and is, not surprisingly, tall! She was 18 lbs. 3 oz and 27.5" long. 80% for weight and 95% for height.

Road Trip

Well, it's been awhile since my last post! I keep meaning to come on here, but I'm always finding something else to do! Shocking, right?! I do have somewhat of an excuse because we were gone for 9 days! We took a road trip to Minnesota to see Mike's family. The girls did great on the way down, and sort of okay on the way back. It's never as much fun going home as it is to go on vacation!

We had such a great time with everyone and made lots of wonderful memories. Some of our activities - Logan's 1st birthday party (our nephew), Mall of America, Twin's game, Como Zoo, swimming, and lots of playing outside.

On the way home, we decided to break up the trip and stayed at a waterpark hotel in Wisconsin Dells. It was a mini-vacation for our family, and we loved it, even if it was only for one night. :)

Can't wait to get together with everyone again for Christmas!!

These are some of my favorite pics from the trip...I LOVED watching these two play together. The two year olds - Josie and Christian....

Could she be any sweeter?

Okay, so maybe I'm a little biased, but I sure think she's sweet! I have been having so much fun with our sweet little Elyse. She is such a happy baby, and I just LOVE her smiles and laughs. It makes me melt. She has been so cute lately with sticking out her tongue all the time. She cracks me up! I don't have any pictures of her sticking out her tongue yet, but I'm sure I'll get some soon. She is constantly doing it, and it seems like she thinks she is being funny! Josie is such a good little helper with her. She will bring her toys and give her her pacifier if she is upset. Such a little mommy.

Here are some pics of our smiley baby...

I loved how she was cuddling her bear!

Rolling Over

Elyse is now rolling over and over and over! She can not stop trying out her new talent! The second you lay her on her back, she is on her stomach! She has started sleeping this way as well.

Here she is right after her very first time rolling over...

What just happened?!

Josie wanted to sit up on the counter with Elyse

Here's Josie eating an apple from our neighbor's apple tree. She was so excited she was even eating the core! And, no, she was not swimming, she is really sweaty from the heat and all her curly hair! :)

Fever

Josie and Elyse both got shots yesterday. Somehow Elyse did just fine with no fever, but Josie was absolutely miserable. She was limping around and whining like crazy. Have to admit, the limping was pretty funny, but once we realized how bad she felt, you couldn't help but feel sorry for her. So, I sat her down on the couch and let her watch some cartoons while I got dinner ready...

Thankfully, this is her today! She is feeling much better, and enjoyed opening some presents from my friend, Marci, this morning.

And, here is Elyse today, smiling and happy like usual! :)

Josie is 2!

We had a great time celebrating Josie's birthday this weekend! Grandma Moorlag came in on Wednesday night and was a big help getting everything ready for the party. We had two big gifts to put together on Thursday night (table & chairs from Grandma and Grandpa M. & kitchen from Mike & I), so Mike, Grandma and I worked on them until after Midnight! I never stay up that late!

When Josie woke up on her birthday, we surprised her with her kitchen and pots and pans. Then Mike went out and got her her favorite breakfast - donuts! No, we don't have donuts every week, just on special occasions. :) We took her out to dinner at Pizza Hut for dinner, after opening a few more presents. She got some dress up clothes from Josh, Liz and Lauryn, and wore the bracelet and necklace to dinner! After dinner, we headed to our neighborhood party so she could play with her friends.

New kitchen!

Trying it out

The best present - my sister!

Grandma & the birthday girl

We had her Minnie Mouse party on Saturday. Josie had a great time playing with her friends in the pool, opening presents and eating her Minnie Mouse cake made by my cousin Rachel. She made a family favorite that I have had every birthday of my life - strawberry cake with strawberry icing. Delicious! Mike was a hit at the party with the yummy burgers he made - everyone was raving about them. Good job, honey! We had a great time celebrating our sweet Josephine Corinne! I am going to put a slideshow together of the pictures from her party...I just need to figure out how!! Stay tuned.... :)
